Lincoln and Washington didn’t sleep here, but Margaret Chase Smith did. This suite’s namesake, a friend and guest of the Peacock family, was from Maine. She was the first woman to be elected to both the US Senate and House of Representatives.
Our guests are fond of this second-floor suite that combines a cozy sitting area as well as a bedroom space with a king-size bed. You’ll also have a TV and Keurig coffee service.
The windows offer a peek-a-boo view of the Bay of Fundy, and it is easy to catch a Downeast breeze. The sunny private bathroom has a tub/shower combination.

- WE ARE NOW TAKING RESERVATIONS FOR THE 2024 SEASON!
- NOTE: There is a two-night minimum stay required. (Unless, in the event of a last minute cancellation or a one-night-only "island" that cannot be filled for a two-night stay. Refer to our availability calendar, and in the case of such exceptions please call us so we can fit you in.)
- DEPOSITS: A one-night deposit, including tax, is required to hold your reservation and will be processed at the time of booking.
- CANCELLATION / REFUND POLICY: Due to the inn's small size, cancellations have a significant impact. Unlike hotels, we do not overbook our rooms. Your reservation is a contract under which we guarantee you the room of your choice, blocking anyone else from reserving that room/date. Therefore, we are forced to adhere to a strict cancellation policy.
For any cancellation, we must receive 14 days notice prior to your confirmed arrival for a refund of your deposit. A $25.00 per room service charge will be applied to all refunds. If any full/partial cancellation or change of dates is made within 14 days of your arrival, regardless of the reason, you are financially responsible for the entire reservation as booked, unless we are able to rebook your room. - RESCHEDULING A RESERVATION: Any reservation rescheduled within 14 days of your confirmed arrival will be treated as a cancellation, and all applicable cancellation fees apply.
- CHECK IN TIME IS 4PM-7PM. PLEASE PLAN TO CHECK IN BETWEEN THESE HOURS, as we do not have a night clerk, and late arrivals are problematic. Early arrivals can be granted only if we have your room cleaned and ready for occupancy.
- CHECK OUT: 10:30AM
- PARKING AT PEACOCK HOUSE: Parking is along the street (Summer St. and Church St.) adjacent to our property only. (Please do not park in front of our neighbors' houses.). Additional parking for two cars is available in the back driveway by our garage. Guests staying in the Sea Glass Suite may park in the front driveway next to the house.
Policies
- Peacock House Bed and Breakfast is a non-smoking establishment. For the health and safety of guests and staff, the Inn, deck and grounds are completely smoke-free. There will be a $200 cleaning fee for violation of this policy.
- We do not allow pets.
- The B&B is best suited for children ages 10 and above.

- Credit cards accepted.
- Appropriate taxes will be added to the total bill.

- Maximum number of guests per room: 2 (except the Peacock Suite which can accommodate a third guest for an additional charge)
